Family Sponsorship

Canada is one of the major countries in attracting immigrants from all over the world under various immigration and humanitarian programs. The Government of Canada has made arrangements under Immigration and Refugee Act to allow immigrants and Canadian citizens to apply for residency with their family members if they are eligible to live more comfortably with their families in Canada. So your family members and acquaintances can live, work or study anywhere in Canada on a permanent basis through family sponsorship if they become a permanent resident. People who are permanent residents or citizens of Canada can sponsor family members, including their parents, spouse, children or close relatives, under certain conditions so that they can become permanent residents of Canada.
According to the Immigration and Asylum Law adopted in 2012, family members subject to family sponsorship include:
Father, mother, grandfather and grandmother
Spouse, partner and sponsor child under 22 or adopted child

General eligibility conditions for sponsoring family members or close relatives are:
The sponsor must be a Canadian resident or citizen
Be at least 18 years old
Be able to provide financial support and basic needs to family members or relatives sponsored in Canada
Convince the Immigration Officer that family members do not apply for government assistance or support after arriving in Canada under certain time limits
If you live outside of Canada as a Canadian citizen and intend to sponsor your spouse, you must hire an immigration officer to travel to and live in Canada at the same time as the sponsored person.
When sponsoring family members or close relatives, you should not receive financial assistance from the government unless the financial support is due to disability, physical disability, etc.
In order to sponsor your parents or grandparents, you need to first show your interest in sponsoring them online at the Immigration Office. If accepted, you will be invited to apply and submit their documents by the Immigration Office, after which you can sponsor your parents within a certain period of time.
To sponsor your spouse or partner, you do not need to have the minimum income listed by the Swedish Migration Board to sponsor them, you just need to convince the immigration officer that you are financially able to meet your spouse's basic needs. Or provide your partner in Canada. But to sponsor the rest of your family you need to have the minimum annual income required under certain conditions according to the income table published by the Swedish Migration Board. If the sponsor does not have the minimum required annual income, his / her spouse can sign a sponsorship agreement as a guarantor if he / she has the necessary income. The sponsor or his / her spouse as a guarantor after taking up residence and arrival of family members or close relatives are responsible for a certain period of time depending on the type of family relationship to meet the financial needs of the sponsored person or persons if needed. It should be noted that the financial obligations of the sponsor and guarantor are the same for the sponsored person or persons, and even separation and divorce, loss of work or residence in another city or province have no effect on this joint and individual financial obligation. Their commitment continues.
